Taras Chevtchenko is one of the first writers to have written in Ukrainian. Member of a looking for movement to free Ukraine of the Russian ascendancy, he was deported in Siberia.

The Palats Kulturi Droujba Napodiv is situated at the heart of the city of Cherkasy, very close to the big main artery.
Fondest memory: The song is at the heart of the Ukrainian tradition. The composers as Tchaïkovski and Rachmaninovs are besides often himself inspired of the Ukrainian popular songs for their music. Cherkasy possesses a dramatic theater where is played regularly of the pieces of the Ukrainian or Russian index, and of the adaptations of the world index : the Tcherkaskiya Dramatitchniya Teatr.
Fondest memory: It is situated by a vast avenue that leads the entry of the city (since the bridge on the Dniepr), to the center city.

Favorite thing: Before the dramatic theater, a vast esplanade, where, since the beautiful days, a big fountain with sprays of water comes to enliven the space.
Favorite thing: This building on the crossing of Kreschatik street and Smelyanskaya street is characteristic of the constructions of the XIX century. With paces a few rococo, very close to the baroque.
Favorite thing: This monument, in woods to the entry of the city commemorates the reunification of Ukraine with Russia, and to been built at the time of the feasts in honor of the 325 birthday.
