As we stayed 4 days in Chernivtsi, I decided to buy a little brochure about Chernivtsi. Apart from maps of the city centre and the surrounding area, it also includes the routes of the public buses and the mini buses (marschrutki) as well as timetables for both the trains and the long diatnce buses
Unfortunately all information is only listed in Ukrainian, so it can be quite helpful if you can at least read cyrillic letters).
The brochure is available for about 3 UAH (less than 0,50 Euro) from most kiosks all around the town.

Appropriate Type For This Shop = all types. From clothes to jewelry, electronics, shoes, food. You can find all of these and many more in this huge bazar.
If you know how to bargain you can get great prices. Still, it's recommended to go with a local person or someone that knows their language. My hunch is that there is a price for foreigners and one for the locals. ;)
We took Bus no 35 from the station near the central park. Ticket price=1.5 hrivni.
