    If you have the Borsch soup here, it will come inside a hollowed out loaf of what is called 'black bread' (brown actually & very dense). The lid of the "soup bowl" is the crust. You are supposed to eat the soup (of course)... but the bread also. This is your starter!!!!
    It is actually 2 years since I was in this particular retaurant but it is very nice. In the warm you may sit out outisde in the privacy of wicker like cubicles. On colder days or nights sit inside of course, but being served all the while by waitresses dressed in traditional Ukrainian costume.
    Excellent food. Excellent service. Excellent wine. Well priced (as in reasonable).

    The last time here, enjoying a nice bottle of wine and eating excatly what we wanted the bill for two came to just about 220 griven. May be a little more expensive now but still good value for what you get just off the city's main street.

    The food is usually excellent. I like the ambience. It is relatively well decorated for a Cafe rather than a restaurant. The music is American country music. My Ukrainian wife said that she only understood the words of the Elvis Presley songs when I sang them!!

    Having travelled quite extensively I can say that the fish soup here is the best I have had in the world. The service I founf second to none. It is right on the cities main street making it very handy. A good full meal for two, including drinks may cost less than $40.

    Also useful for vegetarians.

    Besides main courses they do ice-creams, yoghurt and very nice and tasty cakes.

    Another big advantage: "no smoking" and "no alcohol" policy :))))

  • My feveret restaurant is with no daubt 'Augusta' situated down by the river. Sitting there outdoor in the nigt - 28 degrees - the moon hanging abow you, a local band playing - cheap meals and drinks - EXELENT
    The staf is very kind - Like all restaurants I've been to - It'clean
