16 State Farm Street ("ulitsa Sovkhoznaya" in Russian) is the address of the church of St.Antonius and St.Theodosius of Kiev Cave Laura, the only Orthodox Church in Metallist.
This is where my friend Father Vladimir serves as a dean.
His family, friends and me visited the village of Yelan Rostov region, Russia, in October 2010 to attend the church’s Feast Day – St.John the Evangelist’s Day. Father Vladimir participated in the liturgy there.
September 15 is the church's Feast Day.

You can get to Metallist by bus 251 from Defense Street. There is a bus stop in front of Rossiya shopping mall at the side of the street with even numbers. It's in front of a nine-storey apartment house at 2 Defense Street ("ulitsa Oboronnaya" in Russian)
Get on the (crowded) bus at Rossiya shopping mall bus stop.
The bus will take you past Druzhba Hotel, along Marx Street, past May Day Park to Metallist.
It will arrive to the end station in about 45 minutes.
The bus fare is mere 35 C (2.50 UAH).
As a matter of fact, if I were a well-to-do foreigner, I would not get into any bus, but would merely take a taxi at any bus stop or taxi stand and spend a couple of hours visiting Metallist.
You can also hire a cab by hour. It might cost you $25-$30 an hour.
So if you wish to have a good idea of Metallist and its subordinated villages in the vicinity, a taxi would be the best solution, even if it's a bit more expensive than the crowded bus (full of the deft local pickpockets, by the way, like any local bus).
It's up to you, fellow travelers.
Enjoy your trip!
