It is popular for newly wed couples to make photos in charming spots of Kiev like Mikhailovskiy Monastery or Mariyinskiy Palace. An interesting attraction is to see how imaginatively they decorate their cars. After all…is one of the most important days of their lives.

If you ask any male friend of yours what they think of Ukraine, they would most certainly put on their priority list its beautiful women. This is indeed a reality.
A lot is said about prostitution, men’s clubs etc but I’ll disappoint the curious ones…

If Greeks spend endless time in cafeterias, English in pubs, then the citizens of Kiev prefer doing something cheaper and more socializing. They gather in large numbers in big squares or parks, holding a bottle of beer and chatting…. Or just watching people pass by.

I must have visited both Vladimir's Cathedral and Pecherska Lavra on days of some religious festival.
I was impressed that Orthodox Ukrainians show great respect during the time of Holy Mass. No sitting audience and most women cover their head with scarf. There were also crowds holding religious banners and singing hymns.
Orthodox priests were sprinkling them with Holy Water and all of the worshippers were holding a bouquet of dried flowers.

One day while I was getting off my appartment I saw these balloons all over the staircase plus messages written on every single step. At first i thought it was a children's party going on, but as my friend informed me each one of these messages was a sentence of love from a man to a lady. Definitely he must have been in desperate love... but I found it imaginative and very very sweet!!!

Well if you might think that like Russians, Ukrainians love drinking vodka then you are totally wrong! I got the impression that beer is the absolute ruler in this country.
Readily available from any kiosk, in different brand names (local and imported) and most of all cheap (1/2 liter bottles start from as little as 40 cents!!) it was a pleasure for me to taste every now and then when I was having a short stop while sightseeing!!
My beloved ones were: Pszenicne and Bile (nefiltrovaniye)
Cheers!!! Beer lovers from all over the world, this is THE place for you!

Even though the National Language is Ukrainian. Particulary in the capital Kyiv, Russian is the most common language used.
If you were to travel to western Ukraine, then Ukrainian is more widely used.
try to learn as much Russian as you can before your visit to Ukraine as there are not alot of english speakers in museums and shops

be inspired by special atmospher of "old times" life style. Go to the forest early on the morning to pick up mushrooms and berries....go to the river for fishing.... have barbeque on the evening...listen songs of nightingales.
