Had been to the Rio earlier in the evening, which was well organised. Penthouse recommended by a taxi driver (no doubt because he got a tip to bring me there). Small, good enough in itself, but they tried to blantantly rip me off with the bill: I paid by credit card, and my credit card company automatically texts me when a transaction has been made. However, the waitress came back and said the transaction had failed, and asked for cash settlement--the text from my credit card company had already come to my mobile, so they had to retract. They didn't offer to show the print-out from the card machine showing failure of the transaction. So avoid--if they're willing to try to rip off anyone, they don't deserve to be in business.

I just wanted to leave a note for the people looking for salsa in Kyiv. On Friday and Saturday nights, Caribbean Club hosts DisLOCAdos as their house band, playing a wide range of Salsa Clasica (Hector Lavoe, Willie Colon, Ruben Blades, Celia Cruz), Cuban music (Buena Vista, etc), as well as a couple of original compositions.
As well, DisLOCAdos play every Sunday night at 44, where they started over 18 months ago.
DisLOCAdos is the first and only salsa band in Ukraine, and entertains some of the best celebrations in the city.

This is one of the nicest and friendliest Kiev nightlife establishments. Owned by Scottish expats, there is excellent service by the bartenders and lots of girls on all nights of the week, but especially on weekends. Sometimes there is a band that plays inside. The downstairs and upstairs also has tables and serves hookahs. Also some nights host theme parties. Expats love this place and overall you may hear more English than Russian. Anyway, a nice place to start or end the night.

I used to be in the Navy. With my work I have visited places that are "off the beaten track".
I have had some amazing experiences but I have NEVER been anywhere quite like SHOOTERS!
The place is like a constant party! Full of people that just want to have fun!
It's the sort of place that, if you saw it in a film you'd think, "That place is too good to be true!"
Go and have fun!

Shooters is a disco for the young people. Its only one place in kiev that open every night of week. So if u visit kiev only for a few days during the week - chose Shooters. There r always people partying...
The goul of this place is: "you can do whatever you want". There is no tabu for having fun... The owner of the disco is a scotish guys. All barmen and other male stuff wearing kilts - that is very sexy.
Good music and real Limoncello in the bar. On the second flour you can visit a nice restaurant "limoncello" with italian and georgian food and big wine room. On the ground floor - a great lounge cafe HAREM (turkish style) and outside of the Shooters - summer terrace.
Dress Code: no special dress code. Sometimes ppl cant get in without reason. The real reason can be:
Club can be packed. Or ppl who wants to get in r already a bit drunk. Or u had a bad experiance in a club before. Security on the door wont explain u the real reason.
If u really want to spend a night in shooters, come a bit earlier there, have a dinner on the 3d floor (belive me, meal there is worth it!!!) or few drinks on terrace or hookah in Harem and when time is around midnight, just get downstairs at disco when all the rest r waiting in a line to get in.

Considered to be a new one in Kiev. It was opened somewhere in February-March 2006. Sochi is quite good place to start your party. You can get good cocktails, nice music, and quite comphortable atmosphere. Beides, if you are hungry, you can find good food here.

Hydrozone - a nice nightlife spot on Trukhaniv Island on the Dnipro ('Hydropark' Metro Station).
It includes a disco bar, a sauna, a restaurant and billiards room.
Entrance fee is/was 10 UAH on weekdays and 30 UAH on weekends and holidays.
You can reserve sauna for you calling 516 47 17 (the fee is/was 100 UAH an hour).
I write is/was since it is hard to follow the ever changing prices with us...
The menu of the disco bar includes different dishes and cocktails such as
B-52, BMW, Cocoa Milk, Angel's Kiss and others.
There is a VIP hall downstairs (517 68 81) where you can see a show ballet programm and listen and dance to live music. See also: www.hydrozone.com.ua

Joss Street" – this is an amusement complex at “Tourist” hotel.
To reach this place by underground you have to get off at “Left-Bank” metro station.
This picture was taken in “English Pub” where I could sit and enjoy the English atmosphere drinking a pint of beer.
It was nice to take a picture with this Beafeater that is only a dummy.
