Dali-Park (former Dante Park) is one of the centrally located showing-off venues of Kiev (together with D*lux and Decadence) and is truly a multifaceted entertainment complex - it combines a high-end restaurant, the latest trends in the night club and one of the best karaoke in Kiev. Working only from late spring to early autumn because it's an open air complex (the night club works only from Thursday till Saturday) this is a cozy corner in the heart of the Ukrainian capital surrounded by hundreds of green trees.
The restaurant offers traditional European, Japanese and Ukrainian cuisine as well as a grill menu. Their own aquarium allows serving to guests fresh fish and sea food, you can enjoy there a rich hookah menu bar and wine list which contains rare collectible wines and alcoholic beverages. The karaoke of the complex is also good - with professional backing vocalists and a wide array of tracks to choose among.
Dali-Park is constantly organizing fashion-shows, concerts, presentations, and of course, partying with famous international stars and DJ's. It's one of the best night clubs in the city with a very luxurious and nice interior, sound and lights.
The prices are high above average though(the entrance for men for the night club is 300 UAH or around 30 EUR), reservation of a table costs some crazy money, the parking is an issue since the street on which it is situated is a narrow one, most of the girls there are professional, but I would recommend visiting it at least once since it's worth seeing/visiting.
Dress Code: There is a dress code - especially strict for girls (the entrance is free for them), no sneakers for sure, smart casual is fine
Caribbean Club is one of the oldest night clubs in Kiev - it was opened 15 years ago in 1998. It is very centrally located (nearby the "Universytet" metro station, not far away from the central train station), working 7 days a week from 6 pm till 6 am (on Mondays and Tuesdays there is a free entrance, from Wednesday till Sunday the entrance is paid - 200 UAH, around 20 EUR) and is a very popular place among the local ExPat community and local girls 'hunting' such ExPats. The venue was renovated in the beginning of 2013 and now has a stage for live music with a great sound, the focus as before is put on Latin music and salsa, so if you are not into this you better avoid this place. What I like about this venue is its central location and beautiful interior, the kind and attentive staff, but there are also things that I don't like about it - the food was nothing special (awful Greek salad for instance if this could be Greek salad at all!) and the prices in general are very high, plenty of very professional girls around are not giving you space to enjoy the atmosphere and the music... I would definitely consider visiting other clubs in Kiev next time I will go out...
D*Lux (Dinamo Lux) is for sure one of the most luxurious and chic complexes in Kiev and Ukraine in general. It is very centrally located (right next to the Valeriy Lobanovskiy Dinamo Stadium, actually they share a common address) and consists of a summer terrace/restaurant (the so-called "The Park" - the only smoking area within the complex), lounge bar/karaoke and a night club on two levels in a building of 3 floors. D*lux claims to be the center of social elite entertainment ever since the old Soviet time - it was opened back in 1939 and this really makes it an unparalleled legend on the clubbing scene in this part of the world. This entertainment complex is located in a beautiful green park just above the Dinamo Stadium (after which it actually is named) and gives to its visitors great culinary, chill and party experience. This luxurious venue that could accommodate up to 2000 guests is situated on a hill with a long red-carpeted staircase to the grand entrance where you are met by the doormen/guards, there is a dress code and face control (very strict especially for the ladies), the entrance fee is 200 UAH (around 20 EUR) for men after 11:00 pm, so you better come before that time and use the money for having a drink or two in the lounge bar. The personnel is kind, but the barmen could get nervous if you pay all the time by credit/debit card since they cannot get a tip, the prices are above average but this is understandable for such a venue, there is a paid parking in front of it. The complex is opened from Thursday to Saturday from 6:00 pm to 06:00 am in the morning.
Dress Code: Dress code and face control
This is a nice and very centrally located lounge bar/night club (nearby the Olympic Stadium in Kiev) working from 6 p.m. till 6 a.m. and offering to its guests a very chic interior, nice music and a great variety of drinks (including as they advertise 99 different cocktails) and food (different soups, starters, salads, steaks, sushi). The prices are average or a little bit above average for Kiev (they have 50% discount on drinks on Monday), the only thing I didn't like about this venue is the slow service. What I really like there is that the venue is not getting very crowded and you can really enjoy it, therefore I could recommend this lounge bar for the start of your evening or for after party.
Dress Code: Smart casual, no sneakers

I paid a brief visit to Arena Beer House with my girlfriend's dad during our stay in Kiev in April 2012.
We had a little time to kill while waiting for my girlfriend and her mum who were watching a performance at the Taras Shevchenko Opera House, so we made our way to the Arena City entertainment complex to visit this beer house that I'd read about in our guidebook. I was attracted by the fact that the beer is brewed on site.
Arena Beer House is a large, upmarket establishment. It has a dining area with plush sofas and private dining booths and a huge circular bar that patrons can sit around. We perched ourselves on high stools at the bar and found ourselves surrounded by large plasma screen TVs. We could also see a stage where live music is sometimes performed.
It was a fairly quiet Sunday evening when we visited. We were the only people sitting around the bar area and there were only a couple of tables occupied. We were approached by a couple of scantily clad blonde girls who were handing out cards that advertised their "cabaret show". The staff didn't do anything to deter them. Perhaps these are the services that their business clientele like to be offered. We politely declined their offer.
There are 4 beers on offer at Arena Beer House; Arena Pils (filtered), Arena Pils (non-filtered), Arena Weizen and Arena Bock. We both opted for the Arena Weizen Beer – a 5.4% wheat beer which, like the other beers, cost 38 Hryvnia / 3 GBP for 500ml.
I visited the Golden Gate Irish Pub with my girlfriend's dad during our visit to Kiev in April 2012.
Emma and her mum were watching a performance of Don Carlos at the nearby Taras Shevchenko Opera House, so we sought refuge in here from the heavy rain. It was an ideal place to watch live English football on a large screen while enjoying a few beers. We weren't the only people with this idea; as we sat and watched Arsenal vs Manchester City, most of the other voices we could hear were English ones – maybe tourists, maybe ex-pats.
Once the Arsenal vs Manchester City game finished, we were treated to highlights of that day's domestic game between Shakhtar Donetsk and Dynamo Kiev and, had we been so inclined, we could have stayed on to watch the Real Madrid vs Valencia game that was being shown live later that evening.
If you are in Kiev and looking for somewhere to view a live sporting event, then the following information from the pub's website might be useful to you:
We are happy to accommodate any sport viewing request, providing no scheduled events are being screened and it is available on our satellite receivers.
There is a large selection of beers on offer at the Golden Gate Irish Pub. We preferred to drink Ukrainian beer (Lvivske White Lion at 23 Hryvnia (1.85 GBP) for 500ml), but there are plenty of imported beers (Guinness, Murphy's, Newcastle Brown Ale, Kilkenny, Harp and various German, Czech and Belgian beers) for around double the price.
A full beer menu can be found HERE.
The Golden Gate Irish Pub is not just about football and beer. It's extensive food menu can be found HERE - offering a large selection of snacks, sandwiches and pub food including traditional Irish dishes.
Club44 has lots of live music inparticular jazz music. it is very popular with the young sophisticated university students of Kyiv. A native friend of mine brought me here and I really enjoyed it. It is hard to get a seat so if you want one try and get there early if not you will have to dance, which wont be so hard coz the music is rather good.
You can order your drinks either at the bar or by waiter service. With waiter service you will not get your bill until the end of the night, so you will have to keep tabs on what you are spending!
Also the Kievpost can be picked up for free at this venue which is an english guide of whats going on in Kyiv during that week.
Dress Code: There didn't seem to be a particular dress code at the club but it was filled with young 20-30 somethings and quite trendy people.

Attending a concert at the House of Chamber Music: this is the former Catholic cathedral built in pseudo-Gothic style and located in Velyka Vassylkivska Street.
Its full name of the National House of Organ and Chamber Music of Ukraine.
Liturgy is also held there and the city Catholic community would like to get the whole building for itself, of course, but the city administration cannot seat the concert hall in any other building yet...
You can attend different performances of organ, chamber and choir music here.

Had been to the Rio earlier in the evening, which was well organised. Penthouse recommended by a taxi driver (no doubt because he got a tip to bring me there). Small, good enough in itself, but they tried to blantantly rip me off with the bill: I paid by credit card, and my credit card company automatically texts me when a transaction has been made. However, the waitress came back and said the transaction had failed, and asked for cash settlement--the text from my credit card company had already come to my mobile, so they had to retract. They didn't offer to show the print-out from the card machine showing failure of the transaction. So avoid--if they're willing to try to rip off anyone, they don't deserve to be in business.

I just wanted to leave a note for the people looking for salsa in Kyiv. On Friday and Saturday nights, Caribbean Club hosts DisLOCAdos as their house band, playing a wide range of Salsa Clasica (Hector Lavoe, Willie Colon, Ruben Blades, Celia Cruz), Cuban music (Buena Vista, etc), as well as a couple of original compositions.
As well, DisLOCAdos play every Sunday night at 44, where they started over 18 months ago.
DisLOCAdos is the first and only salsa band in Ukraine, and entertains some of the best celebrations in the city.

Dress Code: Less casual for Caribbean (night club wear), very casual pub-wear for 44
This is one of the nicest and friendliest Kiev nightlife establishments. Owned by Scottish expats, there is excellent service by the bartenders and lots of girls on all nights of the week, but especially on weekends. Sometimes there is a band that plays inside. The downstairs and upstairs also has tables and serves hookahs. Also some nights host theme parties. Expats love this place and overall you may hear more English than Russian. Anyway, a nice place to start or end the night.
