The night to go is Sunday, which offers an "Erotic Show", with female/male dancers and fun games for the audience to participate in. Place is kind of small and doesn't get going till around 10/11pm. Good music and laid back atmosphere. There'll be some working girls in the bar, but they're fun to talk and dance with too...if you don't want to take them home.
Dress Code: Dress nice and there is a small cover charge.

Going to the Caribbean Club was one of the highlights of my trip to Kiev. My buddy and I arrived at 10pm and paid a $9 cover charge. After the bodyguards search us, we entered into an almost empty room, with maybe ten people dancing to latin music. Since we paid the cover, we stayed for a few beers....after 30 minutes...things got really fun. In a matter of less than an hour, the place was packed with women, all wanting to dance. Music switched from latin to hip hop and rock. Neither one of us speak a lick of Russian, but we we able to dance and have fun with Ukrainian girls all night. The ratio of girls to guys was 4 to 1 on Saturday night. Learn a few introductory phases in Russian, especially "would you like to dance"...and you'll have a blast all night.
Dress Code: Very casual...but I don't think you can get in with shorts or ripped jeans.

Brand new place instead of the old MODABAR. After several changes in style and interier, Modabar was finally closed forever. But it did not disappear at all. Instead of it, in the same place we have a new concept of a club - radio hall. 5 fm radio stations have their days and play music in the club - everything from rock&roll, disco, reggie to R&B, techno, and hause. Check what day is better for you and ... have your style party!
FACE CONTROL.
If you want to get a sitting place for Friday or Saturday, it is advised to make reservation in advance.
Dress Code: There is no written dress code, but you will not be allowed to enter in sneakers.

Dockers ABC is listed in "Kyiv in Your Pocket" guide which you can pick up anywhere under 'Nightclubs' although this is more of a rock-and-roll bar than a nightclub. I was there in late August 2006 on a Thursday and Friday nights and there were fun cover bands and rock-and-roll from the jukebox in between the bands.
Depending on the band, people may get very into the music and dance on the bar (which is actually encouraged apparently). There isn't a lot of dancing space in the bar but it's a cool place. Very highly rated place overall, nice to do something other than nightclubs. Just don't try the absinthe shots. Actually that's not a slam against Dockers that is more of advice in general :)
When we were there on a Thursday, there was an awesome cover band with a female lead singer who played everything from Ukrainian rock songs to U2 to Bon Jovi to Alanis Morissette. It didn't hurt that she was gorgeous and had great energy.
You can also order food here and it was pretty good.
Dress Code: Very laid back place. People wearing any kind of clothing will fit in most likely.
