Looking for a party? I am not a night owl, so I better leave the judgement of this place to those who visit such sites more often than me...
Ah, no, no, of course I can make up my mind. Maximum is a real entertainment paradise - if you allow this attribute. Even folks from the opposite side of the city come here for having a good time, a party or whatever. The place seems to be real "hip" somehow. Well, they actually offer quite a number of different attractions.

Kiev has a number of excellent drama theatres and music houses for classical music, ballet or avantgarde. Around 30 altogether. There is also a professional puppetry on Sagajdatshnij street for the kids, yet I doubt children will be there at night time...

Down a little laneway and with an unmarked door, I'd never have found this place if I hadn't had a guide. Seems to attract a varied crowd of locals and expats. I've been told the food is pretty good. Interesting for the speakeasy feel when you open the door for the first time and realise theres a bar there.

In Mandarin center is my favourite nigthclub in the world, it is Arena disco. Here there use to be famous DJ`s. A lot of beautiful peoples, very good house and dance music. Safe place, face control, no sneakers, guys pays around 100 grynas and girl 30-50 grynas for entrance. That means that there is often more girls than men there.....This is a super disco innside Mandarin center.
Dress Code: No sneakers.

Arena City, in central Kiev, is the place to go if you want to go out someplace and stay there. The building is hard to miss, at least 4 stories and shaped like a coliseum, with a huge central courtyard. There is also a lot of retail space here, although most of it appeared to still be vacant in June 2005. There are at least two restaurants, numerous bars, a brewpub, a sports bar, casino, and dance club. The brewpub is first class, with several good, cheap beers on tap. The dance club had a high cover ($20 for me, $10 for my date) and the coat closet is apparently closed in the summer. There was face control at the entrance to the dance club, but we were in jeans and they still let us in. Seating in the dance club is limited, so get there early, because it gets crowded after 11:00 pm.
WARNING!! No real problems here, but in the dance club, beware of the tables. They all are marked "Reserved". However, this is Ukrainian code for "offer me something". We asked how much to rent the table for the night, and we both heard "50 Hryvna" ( about 10 dollars -- I was with a native) . When we were ready to leave, this suddenly became 5000 Hryvna. After we questioned this twice, the host backed down to 500 Hryvna. We escaped the situation by claiming that we only had 100 Hryvna left.
Dress Code: Unknown, but apparently liberal.

Different places on a Chinese ship, near metrostation Poshtova Ploshcha.
Moda Bar, closed during the week.
The casino on this ship is open every night.
In the casino there's a big screen on which people can watch football if there is on TV.
In the casino itself only a few persons play some BlackJack; it all looked very poor/shabby.
Dress Code: I don't think there is.
