The cafe is located next to the old famous "Samson Fountain" in Lower Kiev, not far from Contract Square metro station.
The Samson Fountain dates back to 1840. It was the first fountain in the city and the favorite place of meeting for city residents. Now it is out of order and is only a monument of the past.
The tent of the cafe is red and can be seen from afar. It has the advertisement of Chernihivske beer.
There are heaters inside to keep you warm in cold weather.
The atmosphere in the tent is very cozy, you feel amidst the hustle and bustle of the city, very nice, quick and good service!
There is a restaurant with the same name in Petro Sahaydachny Street.

Russian House on water!
Everything that is needed for commerce you can find in seven banquet halls! Gipsy hall walls are decorated with crimson roses-la gipsy headscarf, the ceiling is embellished with original lamps in form of painted buckets. Two beers will straight away catch your eyes they are just like real!
Boudoir hall meets its Guests with luxury of silk walls and golden lamps, bar counter, comfortable silk sofas with fetching mirrors on fretted backs.
It is Bohemia atmosphere invocating the creativity in the Theater hall. There are playbills on the walls. Scenes from the performance of the shadows theater stiffen on the thin white fabric of the elegant lamps. The theater props are everywhere.
Jockey hall. There are everything a real jockey needs on the walls of the hall harnesses, saddles, ammunition. And if you raise you hand up you can see the skeletons of real two-weel chariots with the help of which real people gained victories in races.
Armory hall is designed for a good men crowd. A real macho discussion can take place only in a place full of riffles, hangers and other weapons! The walls and the ceiling are camouflaged, and the lamps in a form of solder helmets make the atmosphere even more serious. Although all together doesnt take away the appetite.
Music hall. It is elegant and romantic and is decorated with music pages. A real symphonic band is situated up on the ceiling! Summer terrace called Summer Courtyard is the best to view the picturesque Dneper river. And if you are fond of tea ceremony with samovar the Tea-room is for you, where you will find bunches of dryings and barankas on the walls and tea china wear on the ceiling.
House salad KOLESO, gentle Boyarka with Red Beads (salmon bag in caviar sauce), Mushroom Paste, real Shchi on the cock bullion with pork ribs, Fish Rasstegais and Meat Kulebyakas, Dumplings Collection, Pike Perch Filet in Onion Bouillon. The restaurant is located in the so-called Passage in Khreshchatyk.
It has a great hall, an ancient Italian music box (functioning), expert waiters, a big choice of Gergian wines from the Causacus, French wines and Crimean wines, real Italian cuisine.

Avalon - is a big zone of entertainment, that including very nice lounge bar, casino, restaurant and disco. The restaurant decorated like a underwater world, with alive music, comfortable divans and mermaids in the big aquarium (very nice girls who finning there ).
One of the best of toilets rooms in kiev's restaurant. Really originality place.
cuisine is really good, wide choice of menu. Big cocktails, wine and sushi card, 12 different fish dishes and sea food. Fashioned after a 1920's New York City Speakeasy it is a nice place to bring those who absolutely need an American food fix. I generally dine here for lunch since it is walking distance from my office. The business lunch is a real bargain and the food is very well prepared. In the evening they have live music.

Very very tasty food! Dishes very big, but you always can order only half of it. There much place, but restaurant still very cozy, calm and relaxing. No bright lights and loud music - that makes it great spot for romantic or family dinner. Many pandas on walls and waitres with long legs.

I consider this restaurant the best for it is:
* cheap
* with a good food quality
* located in downtown
* one of cheap restaurants with a beer
Truly, I love to dine there with my mom, who doesn't like to spend money on restaurant food because she thinks restaurant food is BAD and that it doesn't matter how expensive and fancy restaurant is. She thinks home-cooked food is much better, and I agree with her. However, Domashnyaya Kuhnya (Home-cooked cousine) is the only place she likes to eat. You can try their all kinds of dishes from Ukrainian cousine which are well-cooked and not over-priced.
I noticed many tourists in this place, so I am sure restaurants staff knows a little English or at least how to help you at least in gestures to choose a dish you would like to try.

This McDonald’s restaurant is located opposite the railway station in Kiev and is always crowded.
If you would really like to have a bite at McDonald’s, you’d better take a metro train to “Khreshchatyk” station and go to another one located to the right of the exit of the metro station.
I have dined several times in both and in several others (Post Square and Obolon) and still think the one at the railway station is somehow better. Maybe I got more used to it during my business trips.
