Synny rynok (Blue market) (17 Vorovskoho, 212-217, 2nd floor, shop 8A, open Tue.-Sun. from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.). This place offers reduced-priced clothing from last year’s collections by well-known makers like Columbia, S. Oliver, Morgan, Street One, Esprit and many more. More than half of the items are brand-new and in line with Western fashion trends, while others are in like-new condition. Jeansgo for about Hr 150 (compare with Hr 500 and up for new), sweaters for Hr 100, skirts for the same price, and parkas for Hr 400 to Hr 500. Though the secondhand market by Lybidska metro (open Tue.-Sun. 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.) happens to be very small , lots of good stuff can be found in its several stalls. A Benetton sweater for Hr 20, a French-cut girly t-shirt for Hr 20, and stylish name-brand jeans for Hr 50 are just some of the nice items to be found there. Another of the very best secondhand markets can be found at Heroyiv Dnipra metro station. Situated in the depths of the new clothes market is a small covered pavilion that features a number of stalls selling recent ..blouses for Hr 40, jean jackets for Hr 60, and brand-new handbags for Hr 50?Better left by the way The secondhand market by Shulyavska metro (Open Tue.-Sun. 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.) is the largest in the city, with covered stalls spreading on both sides of the street for hundreds of meters. Inside, it’s stuffy and crowded, with stalls arranged in a confusing way, but there are bargains galore. The cheapest clothes (from Hr 1) are lying in piles, while the more expensive items are on hangers. Occasionally, stalls have fitting rooms. The assortment of merchandise includes clothes for children, toys, bed linens, evening wear, shoes and sportswear, and the regular stuff: jeans for around Hr 40, soccer jerseys for Hr 20, coats for Hr 300 and even terry cloth bath robes in perfect condition for just Hr 25.
Another big spot is the secondhand “Euro-style” market at Petrivka metro, situated in a former warehouse building near the metro entrance on the right side of the street when facing McDonald’s. Well-lit and roomy, the place is crammed with long rows of hangers with all sorts of clothes on them: sweaters and trousers and pajamas from Hr 5 to Hr 20; coats and jackets for Hr 30 to Hr 50; and belts, ties and shoes.
Considerably smaller, but still rather extensive, is the open-air secondhand market by Lisova metro (open Tue.-Sun., 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.). Some of the stalls simply consist of big piles of clothes priced from Hr 1. Delving deeper into the market you can find more decent-looking stuff, including brand-new winter boots from Hr 100 to Hr 200. Leave a Comment

Baltia publishing house guide books have been mentioned many times by several members as a good source of information to sightseeing in Kyiv, Lviv and other Ukrainian cities. in addition to guidebooks, Baltia also has several good books in English on/about Ukraine. Baltia books can be purchased in the shops in Ukraine, Russia, Belorus, Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia (see the web-site below for the shops and addresses) If in Kyiv, I would recommend purchasing from a publishing house retail bookstore. unfortunately, it's not centrally located by could be get to by subway or taxi. you will save up to 50% of the retail there. You can also order books on internet (in Ukraine). they also do home delivery in Kyiv (for additional charge).
Ukrainian Traditional Cuisine (250 HR=$50) will give you a good insight into Ukrainian traditional culture; it contains food recipes along with description of Ukrainian traditions - from Christmas to New Year. the book is big and heavy, but it is the bext cooking book I have seen on the market so far. there is also a smaller bilingual book, in English and Russian (60 HR=$12), which has just recipes. Ukrainian Wooden Architecture (60 HR=$12) and Castles and Fortresses in Ukraine (192 HR=$39) are also good coffee table books if you can ignore minor English typoes. Guidebooks to Kyiv, Lviv, Odesa, Trascarpathia and Chernivtsi (60 HR=$12)in English, German, Polish, Italian, French, etc.
the prices quoted above reflect ones on the website and the publishing house retail store Theme: BooksAddress: 51/2 Anri Barbus St.Phone: tel:+38 044 5021047Directions: get out at the Palace Ukraine Metro stop; walk two blocks toward Lybidska subway station and turn to the left and walk one blockWebsite: http://www.baltia.com.ua/en/where_buy/

The market is in the center of a place, to reach there without risking to make itself crush, simplest is to borrow the underground shopping mall that has been installed to this important crossroads. Leave a Comment Theme: Food and Drink
