Khreschatyk (Main Shopping Street), Kiev

Khreshchatyk is both a historical place and a busy shopping street. It connects European Square with Bessarabian Square and is blocked for traffic on weekends when you can enjoy a nice walk along this street.
The Central Department Store is located directly in the central street of the capital and has lots of departments. It has always attracted crowds of people.
There are a lot of other modern shops in Khreshchatyk - just go into one of them, choose whatever you like, pay and go!

Nowadays Kreschatik ranges among the major attractions of Kiev. The citizens of the city adore this street, and the guests of Kiev try to visit it and feel its charming atmosphere first of all. Khreschatyk street has a lot of stalls selling all kinds of stuff.

What to buy: CD's, crafts, gifts, stationery, antiques, Dynamo Kiev scarf and similar personal effects.

What to pay: Even though the stalls look like places where you can bargain, be careful if you don't know the rules. I started to bargain too much and offended the salesman.

Whatever you want to buy, you will probably find it on Khreschatyk, a major artery of the city.
It goes through the three big squares: Maidan Nezalezhnosti, Besarabs'ka Ploshcha and Yevropeis'ka Ploshcha. The street contains many shops, restaurants, banks, hotels and governmental buildings.
