Zagreb Croatian style pizza! Not sure what that means. But the open air cafe offers you 19 different types of pizza. They have other food available, but there is no English menu. Delivery service is available and is prompt.
Nice patio to sit and talk or just watch the passersby during the warm weather.
Located on the East End in Volkov Block, next to "Eastern" supermarket and opposite "Tenerife" nightclub and next to "Rovesnik" ("Peer") nightclub.
August 2006: The ownership has changed. Now Aremenian ownership. New name CIAO> BETTER pizza than before, still the same good beer! Reasonable pricing.
Very nice restaurant. Styled out of a "Victorian" style home. Large main room and maybe 4 smaller side rooms. All very nicely furnished.
Outside they have booths where you can enjoy the summer evenings. Fountain with waterfall and greenery.
They have added a sauna recently. I understand this is also nicely appointed and comfortable. About $20.00 UAH.
Many meat dishes. Specialties are mutton and steak. Cooked outdoors when the weather is good. Many salads and soups.
The owner here has sucessfully made both a museum and a restaurant. The restaurant is really quite large, designed after a traditional Cossack village. The large main room, with open seating in the middle, then some side rooms off the main. There are also more private rooms each designed in a different Cossack style/theme. All very nicely done. Also articles from the Cossack past. From knights amour to a wooden pig.
The food is very good. All made from scratch. Unfortuantely the menu is not yet in English. Many soups and meat dishes.
I had a "breaded" fried pork dish, fresh bread, salad, excellent beer, etc.
The service is good and the waiters are helpful and friendly.
No smoking is allowed in the restaurant. But you can go out to the front if you wish and speak with the tradionally attired woman at the door.
This is the Mario's Italian I call downtown. Offers more than just pizza. From Ravioli, Canaloni, and other Italian dishes.
We went in the evening and there was plenty of table space availble. Service was good but somewhat slow.
This would be a very good place to do some people watching in the summer. Just get a good window seat, order some good food, have some beer and enjoy yourself.
Dragon Chinese Restaurant. Off the street and not easily visible. You will need to walk some to find it. A cab will take you to the door after navigating a few potholes.
Typical Chinese dishes. Has maybe 14 tables in 2 rooms. 2 aquariums.
The food is good. But if you prefer some more spice to your Chinese you will need to ask.
Very pink inside!
The resaurant was great. The atmosphere was very pleasant. The wait staff were very nice and spoke some english. They have english menu also which helps a lot. The steak is not quite what we in America would call a steak but none the less it was good. All the staff dress up in cowboy outfits.
Favorite Dish: My favorite was the stuffed chicken breast with a great desert. I spent about 5 USD total.
