Fondest memory: Dear Victor, thank you for posting information about my hometown Olkhovka! Of course not many tourists are going to come there.... I left home many years ago, and unfortunately never came back, but Donbass steppe is always in my heart! I remember in my school years I spent a lot of time in the libraries, at that time they were really good. So in Uspenka library there was a book "Istoria sel i gorodov Luganskoy oblasti". You could enrich your page with many historical facts about the region.
Do you know there was a Greek colony there, and they called the place "Illiria" which I believe means
"mountain country", and people did not like pronunciation, and called it "Rylovka", do they still call it that? Thank you again, and good luck to you! Olga

Favorite thing: The village stands on the banks of the River Olkhovka, a tributary of the Luhanka that is a trubitary of the Seversky Donets.
This is small river whose waters are full in spring.
The majority of the village houses are located on its right bank.
