Like in many other villages, there is a common grave of the fallen soldiers who perished for the liberation of the village from the Nazi invaders in 1943.
The war memorial is located next to the village club.
The memorial commemorates the 286 villagers who fought at the fronts of the Second World War.
Among them 166 persons fell in battles and 258 were awarded with medals and orders.
Unlike many other war memorials where only soldiers and officers were buried, this one has also a grave of the fallen partisans who fought in the battles.
There are four memorial plaques at the foot of the obelisk.
The inscription on one of the memorial plaques reads,
Eternal Glory to the heroes
who fell in the struggle
for freedom and independence
of our Motherland!

Like in many other villages, attending a liturgy on Sundays is a must here (not for all the villagers, though).
I would say there are more passive believers than the active ones.
Lots of villagers seem to be too busy with their chores to attend the liturgy.
So don't be surprised if you see just a few people attending the service.
The cathedral is called St.Alexander of the Neva Cathedral.
The people get their bread and water sanctified and stand there praying and following the service conducted by Father Alexander.
There are very old icons among the cathedral icons here.

This is what we did for a while on the way to our friends in Illyria.
Many houses have benches near the entrance door.
The locals, especially the retired ones, like to gather on the bench and do people watching or merely discuss the events of the day.

Every household has a kitchen-garden where people grow lots of vegetables.
My friend Nickolas has a large garden with potatoes, cabbage and other vegetables.
They also grow a lot of flowers and have two big spruces in the garden.
Thank God they have enough water from the well to water their garden.

There are flower-beds in Sovietskaya Street opposite the village council and in front of the store.
They look nice in summer.

The villagers get the water from the wells made by themselves.
The wells are from four to nine meters deep.
I tasted the water and liked it a lot: I found it to be soft and pure.
