Another opportunity to attend a mass is to go 10 km north of Kirovsk to the village of Golubivka Popasne District. The village is famous for its huge cathedral with a stainless steel roof and rich décor. You can see the typical Ukrainian village: houses, wells, a pond, the river, dachas and shops. There is everything here. The railway station of that village is on Luhansk-Svatovo line and is called Syphonnaya. The village is 5 km from P-36 highway (Luhansk-Lissichansk) that is known as the old Bakhmut Road. Leave a Comment

This is another Orthodox cathedral that is located in Kirovsk. It is in the satellite town of Chervonogvardiyske (Red Guard Town) that is located 15 km to the east of Kirovsk, rather far from the city boundary. The cathedral is rather small and nice-looking and is another example of the Russian church architecture. Leave a Comment

Lenin Monument on the outskirts: very impressive. And the silver color is also very special... As the locals say, Lenin is very helpful here for he is pointing the people the road to the shop that is accross the street from the monument. He is saying, "You are going the right way, comrades..." ("the shop is over there"...) Leave a Comment
