The majority of houses are private ones, but there are apartment houses as well.
The first apartment houses were built for coalminers in Lenin Avenue in the thirties.
Now you can see several five-storey apartment houses and one nine-storey apartment house in Kreminna.

    Memorial Plaques

by hunterV Updated Jul 7, 2014

    3.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

There is a letter to the future generation installed into the wall of the leisure center built in 1967. The naive city residents of 1967 hoped to see a developed Communist country in fifty years when the 100th anniversary of the “Great October Socialist Revolution” would be observed. I wonder what those people would say now…
Anyhow, the inscription on the cover plaque reads,
To the city residents of 2017!
    The mandate to you,
    continuers of the cause
of the Great October in the 21st century,
    is stored here.
    Laid on November 7, 1967.
To be extracted on November 7, 2017.
There are other memorial plaques in the city.
The nearest one is on the same wall. It reads that the leisure center was built in 1967 and was dedicated to the 50th anniversary of the October Revolution.
There is another old Soviet memorial plaque on the wall of the local lore museum.
    It reads,
    The field headquarters
    of the First Mounted Army
    of Semion Budyonny
    was located in this building
    in December 1919.
Here you will also see a memorial plaque on the tractor monument. It reads,
    The first machine-operator
    of Kreminna County
    Alexey Yarotsky
    (the village of Nevske)
    used to operate this tractor

    Church Revival Movement

by hunterV Updated Jul 7, 2014

I haven't seen any church in Kreminna. There is one here, but it is not seen from any downtown street since it is located down the hill.
I know there are several big churches in Kreminna County and even a monastery in the village of Varvarivka.
There is a big poster on the wall of the Leisure Center that reads,
    Let's Revive the Lost Shrines!
It is about the revival of the Holy Trinity Cathedral built in Kreminna in 1837 and blown up by the Bolsheviks in 1939.

    Musical Drawing-Room

by hunterV Updated Jul 3, 2010

    3.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

This is where young amateur singer and actors meet on weekends, exchange their ideas and make short performances.
When I was there, Gallina, the deputy director of the leisure center, an Honorary Citizen of Kreminna, presented me with this badge (picture 1) that enables me to attend the sittings of the Musical Drawing-Room.
Thanks, Gallina and ~ good luck to the young talents of Kreminna!
