Favorite thing: These are some updated phone numbers in the city.
To call Rovenki from outside you have to dial +38 06433, if you call from a landline phone in Luhansk, dial 8 233. If you call from a mobile in Ukraine, dial 8 06433 before the phone number itself.

    Mansions in Rovenki, Ukraine
    4 more images

Favorite thing: I enjoyed seeing lots of new mansions in Rovenki.
Many of these mansions are still under construction, others are being built there.
We could not help taking a picture of some of them, although the passing militia officer approached us and inquired about the purpose of our photography.
Traveling around the city you can also see that many apartments have expensive PVC windows and doors.
We even saw what we call French balcony in Lenin Street (full height PVC windows).

Fondest memory: driving along its streets and dining at Shish Kebab Place in Dzerzhinsky Street.

    Industrial Center

    A coalmine in Rovenki
    6 more images

Favorite thing: I got to know about the city's industry.
Rovenki is a large industrial center of Luhansk region.
These are the operating enterprises in the city:
    seven operating coalmines,
    two concentrating mills processing coal;
    light industry enterprises: a furniture factory and a shoe factory;
food industry enterprises: a bakery, a mixed feed producing factory
and a brewery in Shevchenko Street.
In spite of a number of industrial enterprises the air in the city does not seem polluted at all. The industrial smoke and dust seem to travel elsewhere...
So I did not feel any smog or polluted air during my stay there.

Fondest memory: Driving along its streets and taking pictures.

Favorite thing: There are two newpapers in the city.
One of them is called "Forward, Rovenki!"
I find it to be a very special name for a city newspaper.
It is unique in this respect as compared to other newspapers in Ukraine I have ever read .
    City newspaper:
    Foward, Rovenki!
    Rovenkovskiye Vesti
    is another city newspaper.

Fondest memory: One day a reporter went to see a veteran with our delegation and took a picture of us. The article is enclosed here (in Russian, of course).

    The city flag, Rovenki, Ukraine
    4 more images

Favorite thing: It was interesting to find out about the symbols adopted by the city.
Rovenki has held municipal rights since 1934.
In 1963 it became a city of the regional subordination.
The city has its own flag and a coat-of-arms.
You can see the city flag at the city council building and at the big city rallies and festivals.
The city's coat-of-arms represents a black shining square piece of coal - the major resource of the area.
You can also see three red oaks symbolizing three generations of the city residents.

    Fondest memory: Rovenki

Favorite thing: The city post office is not far from Heroes Square, opposite “Donbas” restaurant and “Foxtrot” trade center.
The Internet Club is there, too.

Fondest memory: driving along the city streets in our "Ford".
