Favorite thing: Visiting the city park.
Fondest memory: Out of the 24 secondary schools in the city I have only visited School 9
– the Intensive English school where kids study English from the first grade and show great results in learning.
The school proudly bears the name of Alexey Stakhanov.
So it is Stakhanov School #9.
They also have amateur talent activities in English, hold concerts, competitions and shows in English and are glad to receive English-speaking foreigners in their school as guest speakers.

Favorite thing: The Soviet era building of the post-office is in one of the central streets.
You will recognize this building located downtown at 16 Dzerzhinsky Street.
I am sorry there are no English signs there, but at least you have this picture and can go there to send a telegram or a postcard.
And I doubt if there are any postcards with pictures of Stakhanov on sale.
Why not make your own and send them?
