Favorite thing: In 1833 Leon Zhivusky came to live to the castle and made enormous restoration works that were going on till 1903. After 1920 the castle was a private museum. In World War II the castle was seriuosly suffered. After reconstruction works in 1949 the sanatorium was open. In 1997 the castle was given to the Lviv National Gallery and since then the castle is in the renovating works. Nowadays the castle is officially closed but you can give UAH 1 to the guard that to see the inner yard. Although the guide didn't advise to do so cause of the building is in scuffolding everywhere.

Favorite thing: In 1872 the Polish owners of the castle sold the complex to the Austrian government and the prison was open here. It existed in USSR times. During World War II fascists used the castle as the prison too. Only in 1986 there was a decision to organize museum here and step by step the castle complex has been renovating.

Favorite thing: Since the second part of XIX century the different accidents happened in the castle such as fires and destructions cause of wars and earthquakes. In World War II the castle was used as a storage building. Since 1965 the restoration works were begun and in 1975 the museum was opened in the castle. The museum has the great exhibits of the wooden culture such as some furniture and wooden altars. They have nice stoves as well as the paintings of XVII century.

Favorite thing: The first fortification seemed to be in 1700-600 BC. The castle we know in the present times began to build after Tatar invasion and the first mentioned in 1327. Since then the castle was moved from one owner to another, including the reasons related with wars and battles. Kings of Poland Jan III Sobesky and Mikhail Koribut Vishnevetsky were born in the castle.

Favorite thing: In front of the castle the beautiful park is laying. On opposite side of the park you can see the church of St Josef. The church was built in 1752-1766 by Romanus architecture as the family church of Zhevusky family. The roof is decorated by sculptures and in front of the church you see 2 columns with Our Lady and St Josef figures.

Favorite thing: The first fortifications date back to XV century. In 1633 the castle was bought by Stanislav Konetspol'sky and in 1635-1640 the castle was completely renovated and improved as a fortress by de Boplan and Del' Aqua architects. Then in the second part of XVII century the castle was several times destroyed in different battles. In 1720 the castle was bought by Zhevusky family but to the end of the century it fell into decay.

Favorite thing: To be true, the historians say that Jan III Sobessky didn't like this castle but his wife, Maria-Kazimira enjoyed it very much. She did much for the cultural advance of the castle. Besides she ordered to build the Chinese Palace that is a good decoration of the castle complex. Nowadays there is Orient Museum in the palace.

Favorite thing: In 1634 the Polish King Jakov Sobessky, the father of the famous Jan III Sobessky King, improved the fortifications and the palace was enlarged. Although in 1672 the Turkish Army took a siege and got the castle. Two years later in the castle Jan III Sobessky gathered the Army here for his successful war against Osman Empire.

Favorite thing: History says that the foundation existed in the place in XI-XII centuries but the first fortifications date back to the beginning of XV century. The fortification placed in the crossing of the trading roads and the historical fact that even the members of the royal family were debtors of the castle in the middle of XV century.
