Favorite thing: Statue of the Duke of Richelieu. The Duke of Richelieu was one of Odessa's founders. The bronze statue was first erected in 1828 by the St. Petersburg sculptor I. Martos and architect A. Melnikov. The Statue is located just before the Potemkinskaya Stairs, one of the most famous attactions in Odessa.

When visiting Odesa, you absolutely must to go to the Deribassovskaja street. Here is many tourists. People walking, laughing.

Favorite thing: See the old part of the city. Please do not go shopping, you can shop somewhere else. You just MUST see Odessa port and Odessa Opera Theater.

Fondest memory: I have lived there almost all my life. I love this city near the Black Sea. I love to watch sunsets and sunrises on the beach. You just can't forget the experience like that. And once you see it you are going to miss it that's for sure.

local police

Favorite thing: Be prepared to see police walking with serious firepower in Odesa. They are friendly and helpful if needed but it may be difficult to talk with them.

Favorite thing: That show was spectacular! But I've found out recently that captured dolphins don't live more than a year. So now I'm not sure I need to recommend this show.
