Ukraine Restaurants

  • McDonald's (Various Locations)

    Kiev Restaurants

Our local young friends from Kiev could not get enough of McDonald's. This was the top of the food chain as far as they were concerned. Plus there were lines at all hours. I was informed that many restaurants serve McDonald's coffee.

  • The Wall

    Kiev Restaurants

To add few good words to earler postings about this nice place, there tables with some paint that can be easyly be scraped. So, as I notices, there lots of tables with scraped names, symbols, messeges... and stuff nevermind if you also have a hand in making tables more cute. Use your forks, keys, knifes /nails?/. As we did! Besides, thats all time...

  • Pervak

    Kiev Restaurants

Just down the street from the City's main square, we picked Pervak out at random following one of the Euro2012 matches as it was about midnight. Interesting decor of Ukrainian village (apparently putting hokey cow sculptures is a must of classic Ukrainian restos). Numerous rooms styled differently, including a bar where you sit on horse...

One day I missed having some coffee and decided to go to this cafe downtown of which I had heard long before. I enjoyed the coffee there and the atmosphere itself. The design is of African style and the cafe is always full of people. It's a small two-storey bulding decorated in the African style. Dozens of coffee sorts!

    Kiev Restaurants

Himalaya is an Indian restaurant on Kreschatyk street in Kyiv. I have been to this restaraunt twice and have enjoyed it both times. Although I do think we get better Indian food in England. The waiters/waitresses are always very polite, there is usually a mixture of Indian and Ukrainian staff. As I don't like anything too spicy I had the Chicken...

  • Cafe Corsaire

    Kiev Restaurants

The cafe is located next to the old famous Samson's Fountain in Lower Kiev, not far from Contract Square metro station. The Samson Fountain dates back to 1840. It was the first fountain in the city and the favorite place of meeting for city residents. Now it is out of order and is only a monument of the past. The tent of the cafe is red and can...

  • Da Vinci

    Kiev Restaurants

I have to say that I had read the reviews from VT and other guides, praising this traditional restaurant which enjoys a "loyal following of businessmen, diplomats and models"... I have to say I expected much more. The fisherman house/davinci basement deco is interesting but a bit over the top... The atmosphere is a little touristy like one could...

This restaurant is a hidden treasure because it is not located along the main Deribasavskaya or city-center streets. It is on 18 Staroporotfrankovskaya and would really require taking a local taxi for 20 Hr (or $3) and can be easy to miss. But the food is exceptional, decor great, and prices very reasonable. All the restaurants are very expensive. We ate at the food court in the mall near the eternal flame. It was an experience, but very pricey. Could have been the fact that we were in a mall, but our hosts also said it was very pricey to eat out. Most of our dinners were eaten at our relatives. They were very gracious. I went to Sokal', Ukraine (formerly Sokolow prior to WWII) a couple of weeks ago. Check out this dollar menu at a local tavern: a bowl of borsch plus a plate of meat dumplings (pelmeni) plus a slice of bread and a quart of tap kvas. The meal was delicious. Beats McDonald's paper taste hamburger for a dollar.

  • What can I eat here!

Perhaps things have changed since I last visited Ukraine, but finding food was a challenge.. • Perugia's Restaurant Tip

The Ukrainian diet depends heavily on rye bread, potatoes, and borsch (beet soup). Pork and pork products, especially salo (a type of smoked bacon), are favored meats. Alcohol consumption, especially of the potent horilka, a wheat-based whiskey, is high.
