Many dishes are noted for their complexity and variety of cooking methods.Borshch, an aromatic and appetizing beet-based soup, is the most popular and widely-known Ukrainian dish, containing many ingredients. Besides, meat, standard Ukrainian borshch contains 20 other ingredients. Different versions of borshch are prepared in other regions of Ukraine. The Poltava version, served with halushky (dumplings) contains 18 ingredients, Chernihiv borshch has 16 ingredients.
