If you are interested in visiting museums, why not go to those museums dedicated to the famous representatives of the Ukrainian culture: Ivan Franko,Lessya Ukrainka,Nickolay Gogol.I would also recommend other interesting things:
    - going to the opera and drama theaters in the capital and in the regional centers,
    - visiting arts museums and picture galleries,
    - attending a concert of folk music (on the picture).

That is the main dish when you
    are on dacha
    by OlenaKyiv
If you don't then you lost a lot. Dacha is:
    - friends, relatives and other people together;
    - a lot of alcoholic drinks
    - a lot of food
    - shashlyk of course!!!!
    - a lot of fun
    - even dances

If you don't have a dacha, then you need to find a friend who has one!... Well of course dacha is also the place where you work hard - growing potato, carrots, cabage, strawberries etc. But still it is the place where you can relax from noisy city.

In conclusion, dacha is the cottage where you work and then have fun, or vice versa

    Yello-flowered walls of
    the fortress
    by IngaA
Surprisingly well-preserved fortress at the very centre of the town, that survived numerous sieges. Now travel agencies organise a knight battles there.
In one of the towers (Papska vezha), Ustim Karmaluk,, can say Ukrainian Robin Hood was imprisoned. The legend says that he was very handsome man and a lot of young girls came to the tower to look at him and brought him a kerchief or a scar. He stored all these gifts and then, when he had enough scarfs, he bounded them together, put it into the tower window and escaped form the prison.
Today the fortress look very picturesque, the walls are covered with nice yellow flowers - wonderful!

    Kamyanets-Podilsky

  • Kamyanets-Podilsky one of the oldest cities in the Ukraine, is considered a phenomenon of great cultural importance. A rocky island skirted by the tight loop of the Smotrich River flowing in a picturesque canyon, served as a unique pedestal on which over more than a thousand years both well-known and anonymous masters created a miracle in stone. Kamyanets-Podilsky is striking for the harmonious blend of landscape and architecture.
My friend stayed at the Hotel "Ukraine" on L.Ukrainky Str., 32. Decent place, cheap bar/cafe with excellent food. There were some problems with hot water, but he's got it in semi lux room.

    How to get translation help
by Dmytro Lytvynko, Kyiv Post Staff Writer
    Mar 14 2007, 22:33

In order to avoid misunderstandings and really enjoy your trip to a foreign country, gaining at least some notion of the country’s language is a must. However, if your trip is quick and you don’t have time for an in-depth study of grammar and vocabulary, there are special companies specializing in translation that can help you. One of these companies is the translations bureau Druzhba Narodiv (Peoples’ Friendship) (22 Rusanivska Naberezhna, office #6, 465-7132, www.druzhbanarodov.com. ua). The company works in more than 50 languages, including both widespread (English, French) and non-widespread (Macedonian, Tatar) ones. In addition to oral translations (starting from $12 per hour) company does written translations, which cost $6 to $12 per 2,000 signs. Another well known translations bureau is April (5 Kotsyubynskoho, office #1, 451-7507, www.april.com.ua). This company deals with 30 languages. The price of written translations is Hr 20 to Hr 110 per 1,860 signs and depends on the language and complexity of the translation needed. The services of oral translators cost Hr 85 to Hr 150 and should be ordered at least three hours in advance. Another noteworthy option is 100 Mov (100 Languages) translations Center (24/1 Nahirna, 489-5856, www. 100mov. kiev.ua). The company makes oral and written translations from and into 40 languages. Written translations cost Hr 28 to Hr 93 per 2,000 signs. Oral translations are Hr 126 to Hr 213 per hour.
