by Nyon-45

Major airlines have direct flights to Kiev (Swissair, Lufthansa, British Airways, Austrian Airlines etc.). Other possibilities I've used: Air Tavria from Istanbul to Simferopol or Ukraine Airlines from Warsaw to L'viv. Tyrolian Airlines from Dnepropetrovsk to Vienne or vice-versa.railway - car (most roads are acceptable) - internal flights (quality and service have improved in the recent years)

As soon as I want to talk more about Crimea on my Ukraine pages, I can't omit the information about how to get to Crimea. Unfortunately, domestic flights are not so well developed, and you are forced to use railway or buses for get to Crimea. Do not expect to get there very comfortable, especially in summer months - air conditioning is very poor, and they are overcrowded. foreigners could also be charged at different tariffs than local people. On the photo: Railway station in Simferopol - adminstrative center of CrimeaBuses, boats, cars - everything is available. Well, you could be disappointed by the quality of service, but you will never left yourself there.

Plane is definitely the best way to go to Ukraine. You will land in airport Boryspil, that is about 40 kilometers from Kyiv. Airport is not so big, but you will not feel discomfort. I also believe that you can get there by ship from Romania, Bulgaria, Russia or Turkey, but I cannot advice anything.Domestic flights exist. Railroad is popular, but I think that any european becomes scared of Ukrainian train, especially if he will get in so called 'common' coupe (6 person for 4 'beds'). Sometimes you will be even able to find some cockroaches in your coupe. Car roads exist, but prepare to the petrol of poor quality. Definitely transportation is not the best thing you can expect to see in Ukraine. Trains do not go on the shortest route - in some reasons there are some major railroad sites, through which trains pass. You can spend 27 hours to get from Kyiv to Simferopol (administrative center...

By Ukraine International Airlines I flew these airlines only once: from Vienna to Odessa and was not too happy about the service. I would say "Austrian Airlines" was much more friendly...

3 lines cover the city. But do not expect to understand the signs. Plan your route very carefully before you go.
