When I was outside Lutsk on the countryside I noticed many storks and their homes in the trees. I loved to see these beautiful birds. It says they bring luck if you see them in their nests. I did. maybe I will become lucky.

I just got off the phone with Peter..seems LUTSK has made it to the bigtime...they now have a McDonalds downtown (!)...(there goes the nieghborhood Peter..lol)
REMEMBER..in 1993 they didnt even have one in KIEV...we went all the way to Moscow for a BIG MAC...

LUTSK is not on the travel tours...its in the upper left hand corner of this map 500 miles from Kiev between Kovel and L'vov...near Rovno. You have to almost know someone and have a reason to go there. In my case meeting Peter was the only reason I would ever have gone to Lutsk and despite all the hassles I am glad I did. Honest.
Bags are being packed regularly in Ukraine. In my travels I met a number of people who I would to some degree call friends. I recently began to think of what became of those people and with a few exceptions almost all have moved elswhere....places like Argentina, Spain, Germany and United States. Of the 8 people I met, only ONE still lives in Lutsk.

A: I have used both Mastercard and Visa on my visits to Ukraine.Only once did I have problems but that was about 6 yrs ago,no problems recently
