Toiletries and Medical Supplies: My husband had a bad case of indigestion, heart burn, etc from local food, especially meat.
So bring pepto, tums, all you can think of that you may need.
Pharmacies don't have American meds there (we only could find Malox) and if they do you will have to explain to them what you need. Also they open at 10am, so if you have a tour scheduled you won't be able to get it before hand.
I was telling them in Russian all the symptoms and they gave me 5 suggestions, so go figure. I bought it all and it worked fine, just not sure what i gave him.

Miscellaneous: So, dear VT friends, pack your things and - welcome to Yalta, a sunny southern city in Crimea!
Do you know what Konstantin Paustovsky, the famous Russian writer, wrote about Crimea?"...Each person who has spent some time in Crimea comes away with the feeling of regret and light sorrow which accompanies childhood memories and the hope of once more seeing this land of the south."

Luggage and bags: Don’t overload your suitcase with things not needed on the trip. The summer season in Yalta starts in May. People dress lightly in summer, southern-style.. Even in the evening the vacationers prefer to wear cotton clothes. A light-colored summer suit is quite appropriate dress for a man planning to spend the evening at a restaurant, variety show or the theater. However, a wool jacket or sweater might not amiss during an evening walk in May and the beginning of June or in September.
In spring or in autumn a raincoat or light coat may come in handy on occasional rainy days and in the evening.
Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: Summer in Yalta is hot and dry. The average temperature in July and August is +24 degrees Celcius. Summer is the season when roses, magnolia, oleander and pomegranate trees are in bloom and when aromatic Crimean fruit becomes ripe.

Miscellaneous: Don't expect a wide range of fruit and vegetables here - although the situation was certainly better than in most parts of the country.
