Uzhhorod Local Customs

Sometimes i stay with my family or with friends. On the picture the appartment "Kwartiera" of my friend Andriy, i lived here the last time dec. 2007 for 1 week.
Some of the houses are in a terrible state.
Sometimes there's no elctricty or water!
For us who are used to luxury its quite an experience to have to wait for water!

There are SIM-SIM vouchers, which u can buy in most shops with a SIM sign in the window.

With this vouchers you can recharge your account with 60, 120 or 240 grivna's.
(5 grivna is about 1$ 5,5 is about 1 euro)

Most people who are living in appartments do have Datcha's, a garden with fruit and vegetables mostly on the outskirts of the city the're living.
Without any chemicals used! wow fantastic good taste!
I have seen several now, its relaxing to go with friends or family and have a BBQ and some drinks ofcourse:-)

I received a regional newspaper of Uzhgorod where an article was publiced about our

When we had the first transport to Uzhhorod a newspaper came to take an interview about our organization because it was accidently exactly on Dec.5th. the children got their presents. At the time i was their i forgot which date it was because of all the work.
Faith maybe, the children were very happen because it was the first time they got some toy or cuddle just for themselves:-)

Voldoja and his family showed me Uzhgorod center and before we went to have some coffee at a special coffeeshop called Medelin.
Amazing how good the smell was when we entered this great shop.
We all ordered some small cup with espresso coffee which most people here like to drink als o when they are at home.
U can also buy special teas.
Certainly worthwhile a vist this shop!

On the picture u can see one a building from the soccerstadion, the room inside cant be used anymore, look at the black line, uptill that line the flood damaged this building.
