    Dam this place!

Dniprohes Dam was built between 1927 and 1932 with american help! And is considered to be one of the Seven Modern Wonders of the World. This is a magnificent achievement of the Stalin era. The Dam is about a half a mile long and about 200 ft high.. During the Second World War the Dam was completely destroyed, but was rebuilt by 1949..

Although Zaporozhye is not a coastal city, there are some beaches along the Dnipr river.

They are usually fairly small but with some facilities will be present like a cafe serving food and cold Slavutitch beer. Very pleasant on a hot summer day!
