Here we are at Finkley Park in Andover, England. Great place for children to explore and play. Natasha enjoyed jumping on the trampolines. Lot's of animals too. We saw horses, goats, turkeys, peacocks, cows, sheeps.....and there was also a barn where kids could hold the baby animals. Wonderful experience not only for the adults but especially for the children. They got to touch and handle the chicks and ducklings. There are also many playground equipement, slides, swings, trampolines, rocking horse etc. We arrived at Finkley Park at 11 am and we did not leave till closing time (5 pm).

    My little darling

    3.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

This place is really popular, it fills up quickly every Friday and Saturday night.

I expect that the management never have one of those meetings that begin with the question, "How can we make this place even better?"

I don't think that they have had one of those meetings since 1970

The "DJ" seems to play music for himself, people fill the dancefloor anyway so why try harder?

If you have ever been to a wedding where Uncle Joe has a beer too far and thinks that he can still trip the light fantastic then you will know all the music that is played here. It's a wedding party without a happy couple.

Dress Code: If you wear trainers they might not let you in - lucky you.

    Life - the healthy option

Locally known as the Jack Russell, this place is a good starting point for the night ahead.

The beer is cheap and the place is always full.

In order to keep the prices down the bar doesn't have a music license so when the place is empty it feels a bit strange, but as it is almost always full the chatter of people having a good time gives the place a comfortable feeling.

Serve good, cheap food during the day, including a good breakfast!

Dress Code: There doesn't appear to be a dress code...

Thruxton is officially the fastest circuit in Britain...
RAF Thruxton was first constructed in 1940
It was converted into a racetrack in order to stage its first race meeting for motorcycles in 1950
Cars were first raced at the fast, flowing track, in 1952
    Thruxton holds a full schedule of British club-racing, including;
    BTCC
    British F3
    British Superbikes
The circuit is also home to the Tiff Needell Experience, for learning how to exploit high-performance cars...
Personally, I am not a fan of former airbase circuits, such as Snetterton & Silverstone (see separate tips...)
Being flat, they do not provide good spectating opportunities, like the natural amphitheatre tracks do, elsewhere in the country, but the biggest disadvantage about Thruxton is that the spectator section only extends as far a the corners entering & exiting the main straight...
This means that action going on around the far side of the circuit, just goes on out of sight, so even by visiting, you do not feel like you have really seen much of the place or the on-track action...
