    3.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

Beautiful red brick home of the artist and poet William Morris and his wife, during the years 1860-65, now belonging to the National Trust.

Guided tours must be pre-booked for Weds and Sundays but visitors may wander at will after 3.30pm.We took the approx 45 min guided tour and found out lot more than if we had just walked around by ourselves.

The interior (which cannot be photographed) is fascinating, lots of wood, painted ceilings, etched glass, interesting nooks and crannies and full of unusual decor including several examples of Morris' well known wallpaper designs.

The garden is so pretty and there is also a tea room but it was closed when we visited. Check the website for opening times and ticket prices. Free to NT members.
