The exemplary Tamar Inn (see my restaurant tip for more details) not only offers great food, good beer, friendly staff and locals it is also the village’s social centre hosting regular live music, pub quiz nights and other events.
I haven't, as yet, had an evening out here but judging by what the pub has to offer during the day and the general laidbackness of the village I'm pretty sure that there's some fun nights to be had.
Website dairy page has details of forthcoming events.

The Tamar Inn in Calstock is a small, charming and sterotypical country english pub.
Mainly hit by locals you can sense the age and history of the place when you enter.
Food is cheap and relatively good.
Many a choice of local ale and well known beers and spirits sold here at reasonable prices.
Watch out for their Live Music nights, especially Adam Issac. Well worth seeing.
