The Countryside surrounding Cemmaes is superb. There is a village information board which shows the route of a village trail which takes you down the main road, past some lovely Welsh cottages to join the path alongside the river. There are also other way marked trails if you wanted to venture further - this is real Countryside walking territory.
The Penrhos Arms hotel serves great locally produced food and has a lovely looking menu with a daily specials board. It is very popular with the local people of the area. They have a lovely dining room set aside for those eating out or alternatively you can eat your food in the lounge which is a lovely comfortable room with oak beamed ceilings & soft lighting.
I chose chicken curry and rice from the specials board, it was delicious. I would love to go back there one day and try a more traditional dish.
