Things to Do

Take a walk in Scadbury Park

Take a walk in Scadbury Park, Chislehurst

Claudilla Says:  The variety of scenery is what I found exceptional during this walk, unfortunately not all the park has got smooth pathways where buggies can go, therefore I would not take your baby/toddler in a pram.

Chislehurst Caves

Chislehurst Caves, Chislehurst

mollymoo0oo0 Says:  It is some time since I last visited the caves, but they've always remained a fun and special experience in my mind.A little hideaway, almost unannounced in this leafy area, you will find Chislehurst Caves welcoming you for a fascinating tour of just some of it's miles of...

Caves2

Caves2, Chislehurst

BluBluBlu Says:  Within the cave complex can be seen 'the hospital', the saxon 'alter', and the 'haunted pool'...plus those areas used by the army, and where the public hid during the London blitz!

Chislehurst Caves

Chislehurst Caves, Chislehurst

BluBluBlu Says:  These are the only 'thing' to do in the village...although I believe the best part is the village itself...such a pretty location.Chislehurst Caves are a labyrinth of dark mysterious passageways which have been hewn by hand from the chalk, deep beneath Chislehurst. There are...

BluBluBlu Says:  Anyone who has been to Bangkok will recognise the name of this Thai/Malaysian restaurant. Its part of a chain...and the restaurant/bar is decorated in a kinda Thai style...with lots of thai niknaks.

Nightlife

Crown Inn

Crown Inn, Chislehurst

BluBluBlu Says:  This is another pub/hotel...situated just behind the Royal Parade. Good beers & food as all Chislehurst pubs provide.

Bulls Head

Bulls Head, Chislehurst

BluBluBlu Says:  This is a pub & hotel, located at the end of the Royal Terrace. This is a lovely quiet part of the Village surrounded by greenery.

Ramblers Rest

Ramblers Rest, Chislehurst

BluBluBlu Says:  This is a great pub, on the Bromley side of the common, in a dip. Its quite old, built 1684, and has two bars, and a rear garden you can sit in. It does get very busy on a warm summers evening, where customers spill out on to the adjoining common.

Shopping

Not just the chains...

Not just the chains..., Chislehurst

BluBluBlu Says:  Apart from a few of the large 'chains' Chislehurst has lots of privately owned shops. Antiques, Interior Design, softfurnishings and boutiques are situated on both the high street and on Royal Parade.

Memorial

Memorial, Chislehurst

BluBluBlu Says:  Chislehurst has a well known war memorial for the memory of those that lost their lives in the World Wars...but, close to the Ramblers Rest is this memorial in memory of those who died in the Napoleonic wars...and this is much nicer!

Water, water everywhere...

Water, water everywhere..., Chislehurst

BluBluBlu Says:  This is the pond nearest to the Royal Parade...a bit low on water in August...

Ducks & things...

Ducks & things..., Chislehurst

BluBluBlu Says:  If you wander around Chislehurst Common there are 6/7 ponds. This is the closest one to the High Street...and is popular for feeding the ducks, swans, and geese.

Where are the cows?

Where are the cows?, Chislehurst

BluBluBlu Says:  This is a view taken from behind the Village cricket pitch, looking NW over some gentle rolling hills...London at its best!

So much greenery!

So much greenery!, Chislehurst

BluBluBlu Says:  I guess Chislehurst itself is...off the beaten path! Not many people, even Londoners, would recognise this as a photo of a London road...but it is! Chislehust is full of roads and lanes like this!
