Walk around Cramond and explore.
To visit Cramond from Edinburgh, you can catch the Lothian 41 bus from Hanover Street.

When you arrive at Cramond Road, walk north from the bus stop - Cramond village is a 10 minute walk.

The remains of a Roman Fort can still be seen near the car-park, as well as a ruin of a 15th cent Tower House.

To the East one can walk the Esplanade to Leith to the North at low tide, Cramond Island can be reached but take care - the tide comes in fast here - don't get stranded on the Island!

For a small fee you can take the ferry across the Almond and walk to Queensferry by the shore path in Dalmeny Estate. (Please stay to the path and don't stray to peek in the houses!)

Cramond Kirk was built in the 17th century on the site of a medieval church which was itself built on top of the Roman fort.

Cramond house was built around 1680.

In 1670 Cramond Inn was built and still doing business today.

Return via Glebe Road to Cramond Road for the bus, or walk along the tranquil path, 'River Almond Walkway' to School Brae to Cramond Road or continue to Peggy's Mill Road to Whitehouse Road (for the bus) or continue to the Cramond Bridge.

The busy road leads to the Forth Road Bridge; turning left leads to Barnton with its hotel and the 41 bus back to Hanover Street.

For those in need of refreshment, there is a pub serving fine food and beer at Cramond Bridge.

A visit to Cramond is recommended!
