There are 2 parts to the museum, one is indoors and this mainly houses the transport element to the museum, some of which is almost as though you're in an old cobblestone street in Belfast. As for the folk element, mainly it is outdoors and is a re-consructed town in which lots of old houses and shops are, still containing all the old beds, furnishings, fireplaces etc. Often the staff dress in the old fashioned costume also and sells sweets in 'quarters', make bread and butter using all the old, traditional tools. There is also an old school house in which children can do activities as well as having the old pieces of slate to write on, chalk boards etc. It's very informative and a lot of fun! There is a lot of walking to be done (up lots of hills) between the folk and transport museum, call in advance and ask if there's a possibility of assistance if you're in a wheelchair etc or lacking mobility.
