Cumbernauld Things to Do
Sacred Heart Chapel is located in Kyle Road in the Kildrum area of Cumbernauld. This Gillespie Kidd and Coia designed chapel has modernist angles and colourful stained glass.
It is a category A listed building and was constructed in 1964 with its interior largely unaltered.
This is an excellent church to visit, especially if you are a fan of Gillespie Kidd and Coia architecture.

Palacerigg Country Park is located off the A801 (it is signposted), although there is no public transport to the park. The visitor centre is open April - September 9.00am. to 4.30pm. October - March 9.00am. to 4.15pm. It was established in the 1970's to assist in conservation, environmental education and countryside recreation. Rare breeds such as Eriskay ponies, North Ronaldsay and Boreray sheep, Shetland and white park cattle, Bagot and Guernsey goats, Tamworth pigs and scots grey and scots dumpy poultry live here and a children's farm is also available.
There is a visitor centre, nature trails, 300 hectares of grass/moor and woodland around the area as well as a golf course and bridle paths.
