Pretty much a bog-standard Wetherspoon, all things told. Located in what appears to have once been some kind of municipal building (and opposite the glorious redbrick late Victorian Town Hall), the exterior of the Miller's Well is entirely generic. Inside, there's rather an excessive amount of framed stuff with tenuous connections to millers, wells, or the greater East End.
As usual, there's a good selection of beers, ciders and perries, and cheap food, which when we visited, seemed rather popular. This is quite a sizeable place, and we saw it fill up pretty rapidly after the end of a Hammers game (another pub down the road having catered for supporters while the game was on). Although a bit devoid of atmosphere, especially when quiet, this is nonetheless probably one of the better pubs in the area.
Dress Code: To be honest there doesn't appear to be a code of dress. Smart casual seems appropriate

A large, slightly battered old building with very big windows, this takes its name from Central Park in East Ham, which is central to absolutely nowhere at all. Mostly painted a sort of russet red on the inside, it still has hints of grandeur about it, mostly through the size of the rooms and the occasional remnant of baroque decoration. Sadly, the huge back room is no longer in use, its final spurt of life back in the 1980s evident from the mirrors clumsily bolted to the walls. You can look through the door to it on the way to the toilet and imagine livelier times. Beer-wise, added to the usual corporate crap on sale is the odd decent bitter, and for entertainment it has a pool table and several large screens, the two in different rooms usually showing different channels while the third is permanently glued to the horse racing on teletext. Pleasant barstaff and a cheerful, diverse crowd make up for the feeling that this is a pub already past its best. The closed curtains on a Friday and Saturday night suggest a bit of after-hours drinking may go on.

There are two white horses running around East Ham
The first is a life-size statue above a Chinese restaurant on Barking Road. East Ham locals say that the building used to be occupied by a vet, a profession that commonly used horses as emblems to advertise their practice. The second is above a building on East Ham High Street where it meets White Horse Road, and is from an old fairground roundabout.
The White Horse is an old Charrington pub situated on a busy road near Newham Town Hall. Inside, the decor and furnishings are sparse and subtly colour-coded in the claret and blue of West Ham United. Sport and games dominate proceedings here: pool, darts, ever-present footy on Sky and a couple of fruit machines. Whitbread bitter was the sole bitter on tap and the drink selection is very basic. The only remarkable part of our visit here was the jukebox, playing MC Hammer and Mel and Kim:
