Ideal for that Saturday morning pamper when you're too hung over to drive or get the bus anywhere! They do an acceptable well priced haircut, and tanning booths. If you want a beautician there's one just next door.

What to pay: £11 for a wet cut,£23 cut and blow dry

Wood Green: The Oxford Street of North London

Wood Green is an shopping area stretching from Wood Green tube to Turnpike Lane tube with an atmosphere somewhere in between Oxford Street and Brixton. It is a lively and cosmopolitan area and has no shotage of shops and small businesses, stalls and market traders, cinemas and lots of interesting places to eat and drink.

What to buy: Clothes mainly, everything from designer to market stall, and there is a great branch of Woolworths here too which sells great things for the home.
