    Packing List

    0.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

Luggage and bags: Keep to the minimum as there aren't many places to store your empty luggage. We just took holdalls and carrier bags.

Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: Comfy shoes, nothing slippery as when getting on and off the boat you could slip. I took hiking boots and trainers and borrowed Helens wellies. Plenty of jumpers and t-shirts and a pair of gloves for when mooring up. The ropes are a bit hard on your hands. Maybe hat as you can't steer indoors.

Toiletries and Medical Supplies: usual stuff, toothpaste, toothbrush, plasters and ointment. Toilet paper, air freshener, matches. bandages.

Photo Equipment: nothing flashy as it could drop in the canal.

Miscellaneous: you are all provided with a life jacket. You need to take towels and tea towels.

Toiletries and Medical Supplies: Good selection in numerous town-centre, suburban and local shops if you forget anything.

Photo Equipment: If you use 35mm film, I recommend 400-speed in December and January, when the sunrise is typically after 8am & sunsets typically before 4pm.

Miscellaneous: The weblink below gives a guide to the climate in Reading. The figures are from Oxford (26 miles away).
