Located in Little Kimble, Buckinghamshire, is the little and very old church, All Saints. Nothing extraordinary from the outside but step inside and you'll be transported back in time, to the 13th century, by the wall paintings.There is a painting of Saint George and behind him is his wife...knitting!There is a frieze at the rear of the church which shows punishment - ladies having their hair pulled...Unfortunately at some point in history some clever people painted over these amazing wall paintings... with magnolia! Thankfully it is flaking off and the paintings appear to be undamaged and waiting in anticipation for rediscovery.There are also some original floor tiles.

This centre for retired, abused and unwanted horses, ponies and donkeys. A lot of the horses are retired from the army and Queens service - some due to health problems and some because of age. They've been going since the 1800's when homes were provided for the horses that pulled the carriages for the London public transport system.It is free to get into - every day from 2pm - 4pm. Closed Christmas Day, Boxing Day, New Years Eve & New Years Day. There is a donation box - this is a non profit organisation.You used to be able to feed the horses carrots and polos... but not any more - for the health of the horses. Can completely understand this but it takes a dimension away from the centre.There is a large courtyard with many stables. The horses here can be stroked and are all very gentle. Named after Beatrice Potter's spikey ironing hedgehog lady... Tiggywinkles started life as a DIY hospital in somebody's garden shed. People began to bring all sorts of injured (wild) animals to the shed and Tiggywinkles grew into the famous wild animal hospital and centre it is today.You can visit Tiggywinkles and see some of the rescued animals. Most animals are released back into the wild once they have made a full recovery but some are not able to be released - such as flightless birds and these stay at Tiggywinkles and are given enclosures as close to their natural habitat as possible.Some animals such as the foxes, deer and badgers are not easy to see as they hide in the undergrowth - that doesn't mean to say you wont get lucky and see them... just be quiet!You can see a few animals being cared for - mainly fledglings and baby hedgehogs.
