    Row, row, row your boat

by bugalugs Written May 4, 2006

Take a walk down to the river and hire a motor boat (quite slow) or a pedal boat or even a rowing boat. I think boat hire is for about 30 minutes and it costs about £6.
I know when we went we got off the boat at 6.30pm and we were the last people. They closed then! I found this really strange that light nights and nice weather was here at last and a place that is supposed to cater for tourists shut up so early! Very strange.

Lovely scenery as you wend your way along the river.

    bring your chalk bag

    by Jonathan_C Written Oct 12, 2003

The canal along the north side of Chester is cut through the living rock and provides a few very nice spots for bouldering as evidenced by the chalk marks. Even if you left your rock shoes at home you should still be able to work a few problems on this wall and get away from the crowds while you're at it.
