There are always plenty of pubs.

by keeweechic Updated Aug 3, 2003

There are plenty of pubs everywhere in the UK. I visited a lot of them while there - whether it was for lunch, dinner or just a drink with the 'natives'. They are so great (compared to the Aussie/kiwi pubs). They are old, cosy and have real atmosphere (well the majority anyway). I can't remember all that I checked out but I'm told that these were a few.

Wynyard Park Inn, Coal Lane, Wolviston.

The Ship, High St, Billingham, Cleveland

    The Kings Arms, Wolviston

    THE BLACK BULL AT YARM.TRY...

    THE BLACK BULL AT YARM.
TRY NEARBY YARM FOR A NIGHT OUT.
IT HAS PLENTY OF BUSY PUBS.
The Black Bull, by far Yarms most well known and popular pub.
The favourite haunt of the rich and famous, home of the beautiful people.
A huge pub split into different areas with 3 bars (1 in the beergarden)
This pub has by far the best beergarden of any of yarms pubs.Part of the beergarden is covered by a huge glass canopy with space heaters and so is popular even in the middle of winter.
Due to its popularity the pub does get overcrowded on weekends and you can expect to queue for upto half an hour to get in on Friday evenings after 9pm.
The bull is one of the only pubs that you can expect to be busy every night of the week.

    Dress Code: SMART CASUAL.

A very busy pub in the 'student sector' of middlesbrough, although it is very popular with normal people as well. the place to meet at the beginning of an evening. often hosts live bands during the week either in the main bar or in the upstairs bar that sometimes has a late licence. good during the summer 'cos you can sit outside and they sometimes have a barbecue on.

    Dress Code: CASUAL

    Club M at Tall Trees
Well, it's the biggest night spot in the North and one of the biggest in the UK. Busses run from other Northern towns & cities to take clubbers to Tall Trees.

    Dress Code: Sensible.

    Teesside Park.

    Teesside Park.
Huge shopping and leisure complex, the shopping is basically just sports goods, electrical, household, DIY, food and toys - no fashion.

What really makes Teesside Park, though, is the leisure side of it. There are several 'Diner' style restaurants, including Pizza Hut, Macdonalds & Burger King, a 32 lane bowling alley, a 14 screen multiplex cinema, a Casino, a nightclub (Millennium) and a Bingo (does any other country in the world have bingo?), and they're still building.

Truly VAST car park, patrolled by security guards. Remember where you parked your car, or you could be in for a long search *voice of experience*

Dress Code: Depends what your doing. Anything goes for bowling & cinema, smart casual will do for the Casino and Nightclub, blue rinse and slippers is essential for the bingo :-)

    Yarm

    Yarm
Small town on the outskirts of Teesside with a good number of decent pubs & Restaurants in a small walking distance. Gets crowded on Friday & Saturday nights, sometimes with queues outside some of the pubs.

Also close to Tall Trees, a short taxi ride (or walk) from the centre of Yarm. This is one of the biggest clubs in the North East.

Dress Code: Anything for the pubs, normal 'club gear' for the Night Club (i.e. no jeans or trainers).
