Contains a selection of small shops to suit all tastes. A nice designer clothes shop as you enter sells all the latest fashions at affordable prices. Not the largest arcade but worth the visit if you want something unique. Situated close to the city centre and Swallow Hotel.

If youre looking for the modern shopping complex with dept stores and American chains then Wellington square flows adjacent to the main High Street.
Along here you can also find some nice bakeries and select shops.

Stoktons hight street is the UK's widest shopping street, but far from comparable to the Champs Elysees.
The surrounding areas are well worth shopping in and the local shops/stalls seem to be considerably cheaper then the franchises or big dept stores in the UK.
The market is supposedly one of the largest in this part of England.
The Shambles was an older shopping area on the high street, newer shopping malls have emerged including Castlegate and Wellington square.
What to buy: Markets offer all sorts of loose goods, from China to lace.
What to pay: Well below average prices
