We stopped into the Star Inn during our pub-hopping journey on Saint Patrick's Day. We loved the atmosphere in the small, cozy pub. The rooms are filled with antiques and boating memorabilia and the staff is friendly and helpful. The prices here were the cheapest we found, on everything from crab sandwiches to beer.
Favorite Dish: I loved the Cornish Cream ale - foamy and delicious, strong enough to do it's job.
Set on the Newlyn to Mousehole road as it rises over the Harbour; spectacular views over Mount's Bay and Newlyn.
Favorite Dish: Lots of seafood dishes, made with fresh, locally caught produce. Also boasts traditional roast dinners and some lovely puddings.
A converted cinema. Am going there next month so will describe it then.
Favorite Dish: The reason I recommend it is because they make Cornish mead here. There are flavours for every taste; strawberry, apricot, banana...and it blows your socks off.
