...and head to Whitsand Bay.
On it's day it can produce excellent waves.
Throughout summer it hovers from between flat- 3ft slow clean waves. Perfect for beginners!
Entrance next to Tregantle fort, or along the coastal road near Freathy.
Word of warning: rips can be strong, so no your limits.
Whitsand Bay is the area of coastline facing SSW towards the English Channel. It's 5 miles drive from Torpoint and is the most Easterly part of the South Cornish Coastline before you get to Devon.
It's quite a steep climb down to the rocky beach, but once there, you can explore the rock pools and many folded rock formations.
It's a steep walk down to the beach, but well worth it.
The beach is a grat place to explore, but remember it is a rocky beach with many pertruding folded rocks sticking out everywhere. Great for looking for crabs and over wildlife in the rockpools!
This is a fantastic place to hold a wedding.
Polhawn Fort is nestled within the Cornish Coast overlooking Whitsand Bay.
It easily holds between 60 and 100 people and the main area transforms to whatever function you want through your weekend.
My friends planned there wedding here and the whole wedding weekend from start to finish was absolutely amazing.
This picture shows how secluded the Fort is within the local area.
