Bowness is not the hive of all activity at night times but there are plenty of pubs and a couple of late spots for those who want the night to last. I'm not sure what the opening hours are of the Wheelhouse now as its been some time since I last went there but its a decent place right down on the lake and its a nice walk there and back from wherever you're staying.
Look out for the lights by the jetty and watch out for the swans and ducks - they never sleep!!!
