There are many fabulous places to eat in Bowness, but on a warm summer's evening nothing beats eating fish and chips sitting on the shores of the Lake.
Vinegar Jones sells the best fish & chips I have ever tasted!!
The only thing I would say though is; for some reason if you choose to eat in the food doesn't taste as good. Having said that though, the setting when eating in is hardly ideal so that maybe explains why.
Favorite Dish: Fish & chips obviously!!!!
Unusual little tapas place set back on a tiny, tiny street (reminded me of Whitby or York) this is two or even three different places in one. The area that we sat in was mostly set aside for eating but there were plenty of people sat in the window watching the passing tourists! They had a very unusual banquette at the back of the bar that faced into the rest of the room and was set a little higher than everyone else. Very strange but quite cool. In the next room it was mostly set up as a bar, but people were still eating here too. And upstairs it's more restaurant than anything else. Open fires make it a very cosy place to be and the wine list is great!
Favorite Dish: Whenever we go for tapas I always, always have to pick a chorizo dish, and the dish here was lovely. Potatas Bravas is also on the must order list, I've tasted better but I've definitely tased worse too :o)
