Hanging on a Line...
I don't suppose this occurs in Cumbria alone, hanging out the dead moles on a fence, but it isn't a particularly nice spectacle. We came across this in the north of the county, not so far from Brampton. I know moles create havoc in the fields but I'm not well up on country matters. All the land around appeared to be used only for sheep and maybe cattle, but no agriculture. Do moles actually cause damage to animals, carry diseases etc or is it that they totally undermine the land? Whatever, I really don't know why their poor dead bodies have to be displayed as they were. And to whom?
