Everywhere in the Lakes is a tourist trap. They are having a laugh at our expense. They smile (if you are lucky) and take your cash. From the "friendly pub landlord" to the local teashop and your hotel proprietier - they dont particularly like you they just want your money honey. If they are not nice to you, which I would say 6 out of 10 are not then dont you dare tip them - you make it worse for others if you do!I go to the same places year after year - I smile and am a polite person and generally see the good in people - NOT HERE - I see through them all. You have been warned. If you speak to the locals they completely agree that most of these people have moved up from down south and are just intersted in your cash. We all have to eat, speak to your fellow hotel guests or locals for info on where not to get ripped off. (If anyone finds anywhere please let me know!) Make your own...
