Don't get cut off by the Tide

by EasyMalc Updated Oct 21, 2013

On the whole the beaches of Torbay are very safe but it always pays to know the state of the tide, particularly if you intend walking around and below headlands.
Visitors, particularly youngsters, frequently get cut off by an incoming tide and need to be rescued.
There are signs, such as this one at Livermead Head, that warn of the dangers, but people still get caught out.

    A Certain Element.............

    by freya_heaven Written Mar 6, 2005

    2.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

Over the past decade a certain "element" has been attracted to and moved in to the town, and drugs are very easy to get hold of & theft has very much risen.

Enjoy your time here, the typical holiday maker would probably not be aware of the growing problem. Just use your common sense do not leave anything visable in your car etc.
